WHAT IS A LEGACY?

Simply put, a legacy tells how individuals are remembered over time. It refers to something handed down from the past such as values, beliefs, or practices passed through generations. It can also signify the lasting impact of an individual's actions or contributions. In essence, it's one's life story - the good, the bad, the ugly, the mistakes and the learning that occurred from them, the failures and what one did to overcome them, and of course, the successes. 
 

Most significant of the values Spencer and Lucille Wilder held dearly, and instilled in their children, were Christian faith and education. These cherished values were passed down to their children, fostering a legacy of strong commitment to this path forward. From a young age, every child of Spencer and Lucille Wilder embraced their faith in Christ and successfully completed high school in the traditional way. Many pursued higher education, earning associates degrees, bachelor’s degrees and some even achieving advanced degrees. Today, seventy-nine years after our father’s death and forty-three years after Madear’s death, we can see in the lives of the next generation of Wilders — the grandchildren of Madear and Mr. Wilder - continuing this trend — an affirmation that they too hold Spencer and Lucille’s legacy in high regard.
