Looking Backwards to 2024

Oh, What "A Beautiful Affair" and enjoyable time we had on November 15, 16, and 17 2024, when a very nice representation of the family gathered in Birmingham (Hoover), Alabama as guests of Margaret, Peggy, Allison and Skeet to reunite and rekindle relationships. The three day event consisted of a unique reception in the form of a rum tasting and village tour on Friday evening, an elegant family dinner on Saturday evening, and a "farewell  for now"  brunch on Sunday morning. The smiles, the conversations, the laughter, the hugs and kisses, the "reminiscing  and  "remember when's," and not to mention meeting new family members all  served to bring us closer together and remind us of the "Good Old Days." In fact, this event was such a success that we are doing it again and we want  more to join us this year. Our hope is that you will give some serious thought to the purpose of this occasion and make plans to reunite with the family in 2026.

Highlight: Allison's Rum Tasting
and Peggy's Village Tour

The rum tasting event was, undoubtedly, the standout experience of the weekend. With descriptors such as extravagant, classy, glamorous,  luxurious, even epic, this lively gathering was both breathtaking and unforgettable. Because they were held in the same location, attendees were also the first to view Peggy's "mysterious" Village Tour. Note the village in the background.

We were truly "BLESSED" after enjoying a delightful holiday meal, as we were treated to a beautiful viola performance by Rebeca, the talented daughter of Robert and Robyn Griffith. Her skill as a musician shines through, not only in her viola playing but also in her ability to master the ukulele, guitar, and piano. With ten years of musical experience, Rebeca is a proud member of the Alpharetta Symphony Orchestra, where she plays the viola and serves as the Youth Operations Coordinator. Currently pursuing a degree in music appreciation, she also teaches viola, and we couldn't be prouder of her achievements.

Rebeca, we know that your grandparents are proud of all of their grandchildren, but we must note that Bobby and Diane were just beaming with pride as you performed with such ease and elegance that day. Watching them enjoying you was a special joy for us siblings. And kudos to Robyn and Recca for raising such a poised and talented young woman. For those of you who will be visiting Georgia in the near future, why not consider attending one of Rebeca's concerts? I am sure you will enjoy it.

Much love to you Rebeca from the entire Wilder Family.

Wishing you continued success in all your endeavors!

TOUR THE VILLAGE, PART II, BUT FIRST...

Touch the 1984 Olympic Relay Torch

This unplanned, impromptu attraction took place after the brunch and emerged as another "wow" experience, especially for the young people who did not know that a member of the family was one of the 1984, Olympic Torch Relay Team members, carrying the torch from Texas into Olympic Stadium, Denver, CO.
